Where did your name come from?

Names are more than just words β they carry stories, traditions, and hopes. Mine is no different. My name is Bhavin, and like many names, it was not chosen by accident.
When I was born, my parents wanted to give me something meaningful β a name that reflected both heritage and aspiration. They settled on Bhavin, a word rooted in Sanskrit, meaning βto exist,β βto become,β or βto prosper.β It was their wish that I grow into someone who not only lives but thrives, creating meaning in the world around me.
As a child, I didnβt think much about my name. It was justβ¦ me. But as I grew older, I started noticing how it connected me to my culture and identity. Friends often asked what it meant, and every time I explained, I felt proud. It was as if my name carried a gentle reminder of the path my family hoped Iβd follow β a path of growth and purpose.
Of course, over the years, my name has taken on new forms. Teachers, friends, and colleagues have pronounced it differently, sometimes shortening it, sometimes giving it a unique twist. Yet, at its core, it always comes back to the same essence β a symbol of becoming.
So, where did my name come from? From love, tradition, and a wish that I might grow into someone who makes a difference. And every time I hear it, Iβm reminded of the story it carries β a story Iβm still writing each day.
Whatβs the story behind your name? Have you ever asked your family why they chose it?
