What’s your favorite word?

When people ask me what my favorite word is, I donβt answer right away. Words are tricky companionsβeach one carrying its own rhythm, taste, and mood. Some words feel like music, others like whispers, and a few like tiny fireworks in the mouth.
But if I must choose, Iβll tell you about the word that always lingers in my mindββserendipity.β
I first stumbled across it in a novel during college. I didnβt even understand its meaning the first time I read it, but the sound alone caught meβsoft, melodic, playful. When I finally looked it up and discovered it meant βthe occurrence of happy accidents,β something inside me clicked.
I thought about the unexpected friendships I had made, the chance encounters that shaped my path, the tiny detours that led to my biggest joys. Serendipity wasnβt just a word; it was a mirror of my life.
Now, every time I hear it, I smile. It reminds me that not everything can be planned, and sometimes the best chapters are written by accident.
So, when someone asks me my favorite word, I donβt just give them a vocabulary answer. I give them a little piece of my story. Because βserendipityβ isnβt only a word I likeβitβs a reminder that magic often hides in the unplanned corners of life.
