What’s your favorite cartoon?

Ask me about my favorite cartoon, and suddenly Iβm not an adult anymoreβIβm a kid again, sitting cross-legged on the floor, staring at the TV with the kind of focus that only childhood can create. Itβs funny how a simple animated show can become a whole emotional time machine.
For me, that cartoon was Tom and Jerry.
There was something magical about it.
No long dialogues, no complicated plotsβjust pure, chaotic, delightful storytelling. A cat chasing a mouse, again and again, yet somehow every episode felt fresh. I didnβt need to understand the world to enjoy it; I just needed a few minutes and the promise of laughter.
I can still remember the tiny thrill I felt when the intro music startedβthe kind of happiness that didnβt ask for permission or explanation. And the best part? Even without words, the show somehow said so much.
About persistence.
About rivalry.
About unlikely friendships.
And about finding joy in simple things.
As I grew older, life became louder, fuller, more demanding. But every now and then, I catch a glimpse of Tom tripping over his own trap, or Jerry grinning mischievously from behind a corner, and I feel that flicker of childhood ease return.
Maybe thatβs why it remains my favorite cartoonβnot because of the animation or the humor, but because of the way it still makes me feel.
Like nothing is too serious.
Like joy can be found in silliness.
Like growing up doesnβt mean letting go of the things that once made us laugh until our stomachs hurt.
And honestly?
I think we all need a cartoon like that.
