Do you need time?

There are days when time feels like a polite guest β sitting quietly beside me, waiting to be noticed. And then there are days when itβs a thief β running faster than my breath, stealing moments I meant to hold on to.
This morning, as I sat with my half-finished coffee, I caught myself whispering, βI just need a little more time.β
Time to think.
Time to feel.
Time to simply be.
Life has become a series of alarms and checklists. Every beep, every reminder is another demand β βHurry up!β βYouβre late!β βDonβt forget!β
And yet, what I really want to do is forget. Just for a while. Forget the clock, the deadlines, the constant motion of being βproductive.β
When I was younger, time was endless β stretched out like a summer afternoon. I could waste hours doing absolutely nothing, and it still felt full. Now, even a free weekend feels like itβs slipping through my fingers before I can exhale.
Maybe thatβs what growing up does to us β we start measuring time instead of living in it.
But lately, Iβve been learning to pause.
To sit quietly with a cup of tea.
To listen to the hum of life outside my window.
To remind myself that needing time doesnβt make me lazy β it makes me human.
Because time isnβt just something we spend β itβs something we share, with ourselves.
So today, if you find yourself overwhelmed, whisper it softly β βI need time.β
And give yourself permission to take it.
